A bit over a year ago, you helped us raise $10,637 for charity: water in the Worst. Marathon. Ever. Now, finally, we have a tidbit of information on where exactly that money is going—read on for the scoop.

It's not much, but we now know that the money was sent to Ethiopia and Malawi! An excerpt from the email we received from charity: water:

About 12 months ago, your funds were pooled with those of other mycharity: water campaigns to help thousands of people in Ethiopia and Malawi. Our local partners, Relief Society of Tigray (REST) in Ethiopia, and Pump Aid in Malawi, are using your money now to build and rehabilitate freshwater wells and spring protections for people in need. They're also teaching communities about safe hygiene practices and forming local Water Committees to look after the projects when they're finished.

This is great news, and thanks again to charity: water for being so transparent. We should soon get a full report on these clean water projects, including photos and GPS coordinates! Stay tuned.

  2. Awesome! Looking forward to seeing some pictures in the future. :)
